Mong Lan at Pine Hollow @ 6:30 pm
Featured Pine Hollow Arboretum reading by Mong Lan, a poet, writer, photographer, musician, composer, dance and teacher of Argentine tango from Sugar Land,Texas.
 
Having left her native Viet Nam on the last day of the Evacuation of Saigon, Mong Lan became a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and also was a Fulbright Fellow.  She received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona.  She is the author of seven books of poetry and two chapbooks.  She has been anthologized and included in such anthologies as The Best American Poetry, The Pushcart Poetry:  Best Poems from 30 Years of Pushcart Poetry, and is published in such journals as North American Review, The Kenyan Review, and Iowa Review. Her visual are has been exhibited in museum such as the Dallas Museum of Art, and in galleries internationally in Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Bali and Buenos Aires.  She has taught and performed tango for twenty years.
Event is a featured reader and an Open Mic
Potluck beginning at 6:00 PM
Other Poets can read three short poems or two longer poems.  Also two pages of prose will be acceptable.
Light refreshments.
Donations welcomed.
Grounds are Open. Come early and visit the Arboretum.
