Directions & Tips For Your Visit

Entrance and Parking: The arboretum entrance is located at 34 Pine Hollow Road Slingerlands, NY 12159. Please drive slowly to the very end of the road, where you will see a circular driveway. Visitors may park along the circle, ensuring other vehicles have room to pass.  Currently, we have very limited parking. If you are visiting with a party of more than 5 individuals, please consider carpooling.

Pine Hollow Arboretum is conveniently located .5 miles off the Albany County Rail Trail. Sidewalks are available from the rail trail to Pine Hollow Road. Please use caution when crossing New Scotland Road to Pine Hollow Road. Bike racks are available at the arboretum.

Due to the size of the Nature Bus, our parking will be even more limited on Saturday's from June 12th to September 25th. Please consider using the Nature Bus to visit us or if you're driving, consider coming another day.

For more information on the Nature Bus, head to the "Nature Bus" section of our website, or click here

Suggested Attire: Please dress prepared for the outdoors. As with any outdoor space, depending on the season, ticks and mosquitos may be present.  We recommend long pants tucked into socks and closed toe shoes. The grounds of the arboretum tend to be very wet and muddy in the spring and following rainy weather.

The Arboretum is managed as a natural environment and patches of poison ivy are present in the landscape.  Please stay on the trails and lawn areas to prevent coming into contact with this indigenous plant.

Fees: Admission to the arboretum is FREE and open to the public 365 days a year, from dawn until dusk. We have a suggested donation of $5/per person to help us to continue to maintain our trees, trails and grounds for the benefit of all.  Feel free to contribute to the donation box posted by the front door of the house.

Canine Visitors: Dogs on leashes are welcome to enjoy the trails and grounds at the arboretum.  For the safety of other visitors (both human and canine) and wildlife, please keep your dog on a leash.

Visitor Center: Currently, our facility is not open to the public.  We are taking the necessary steps to transform the founder’s residence into a wonderful space for both arboretum and community activities. We appreciate your patience, encouragement and support during this time of great change.
